Class Overview
This course is a complete guide to understanding the basics of firearms ownership, safety, and nomenclature, and how it applies to home- or self-defense. After this class, students will understand the mindset needed to act as their family’s first line of defense in the event of a home invasion or other critical incident.

- Live firing exercise of sufficient duration to fire either a revolver or a semiautomatic pistol, from a standing position or its equivalent, a minimum of 20 rounds from the handgun at a distance of seven yards from a B-27 silhouette target or an equivalent target
- Live fire test administered to the applicant while the instructor is present of 20 rounds from either handgun from a standing position or its equivalent at a distance from a B-27 silhouette target, or an equivalent target, of seven yards
Class Prerequisites
An exercise that demonstrates your ability to safely load and unload either a revolver or a semiautomatic pistol and place rounds on a target at 7 yards with either firearm. This will be done at the beginning of the course.
